Armed Forces Day is a day to honor and recognize the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces. It's a time to express gratitude for their service, sacrifices, and dedication to the nation's security. The day also serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the military's role in civilian life and showcase its capabilities.
LEAD’s Armed Forces Day activities will include self-guided tours of the James Finley House, the former commander’s quarters, and the Historic Letterkenny Chapel and Franklin County Veterans and 9/11 Memorial Park.
Schedule of events for the day includes: 11 a.m. – Opening Ceremony 11:15 a.m. – 2 p.m. – A celebration to include reenactments, exhibits, tours of the James Finley House and Historic Letterkenny Chapel and bus tours of the depot.
The bus tours of the depot will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bus tour times are: 11:15 a.m. – 12 p.m. 12:15 – 1 p.m. 1:15 – 2 p.m.
